Man arrested after foot chase through parts of Sequim

November 6th, 2017 - 05:30 am

SEQUIM – A theft from a Sequim store led to a foot chase and a struggle with law enforcement officers.

It happened about 4:30 Saturday afternoon when Clallam sheriff's deputy Don Kitchen saw a full Walmart Grocery cart pushed into the bushes near Priest Road.

A man, identified as 20-year-old Jason Brack of Forks, walked out of the bushes and tried to run from the deputy.

A foot chase ensued and Kitchen was joined by officers from the Sequim police department.

The chase went around the Priest Road and Hendrickson Road area. Brack ran into a nearby yard while law enforcement was searching. Brack tried to “get a ride” from a local resident and then allegedly tried to steal the car.

Brack was subsequently found and captured while in the process of running alongside Priest Road

Walmart video depicted Brack removing the grocery cart from Walmart earlier without paying for the items. The loss value was just under a thousand dollars.
