August 11th, 2017 - 05:30 am

(Sequim) – Clallam County sheriff's deputies have made an arrest in the theft and vandalism to a dog's memorial in Sequim.

Yesterday morning, 41-year-old Adam Lux was arrested for third degree theft, third-degree malicious mischief and possession of stolen property.

The investigation began a week ago with the theft of the memorial statue of Stolli, the Black Lab, from the 1100 block of West Hendrickson Rd in Sequim. Stolli was a long-time feature for users of the nearby Olympic Discovery Trail. His likeness was memorialized when he died.

A caller later told the victim he had the statue and arranged to return it. However, the victim discovered the statue in pieces once he opened the box.

The victim provided deputies with a photo of the man he met with the statue, who turned out to be Lux, which lead to an interview with authorities and his arrest.
