Kessler, Van De Wege, Dicks top primary races

(Port Angeles) -- House Majority Leader Lynn Kessler of Hoquiam will move onto the general election to face Republican Randy Dutton of Montesano.

District wide numbers in the 24th District from Clallam, Jefferson and Grays Harbor Counties show Kessler with 65 percent to Dutton's 35 percent.

Incumbent State Representative Kevin Van De Wege of Sequim, a Democrat, will run against Republican Thomas Thomas of Port Angeles in November.

Van De Wege took 66 percent of the district wide vote Tuesday, while Thomas garnered 33 percent.

Democratic State Senator Jim Hargrove of Hoquiam is running unopposed in his effort for another 4 year term.

Long time incumbent Sixth District Congressman Norm Dicks will face Republican Doug Cloud in the general election.

Dicks, a democrat, garnered 58 percent of the district wide vote Tuesday.

Cloud had 29 percent, Democrat Paul Richmond of Port Townsend had 9 percent and Green Party candidate Gary Murrell of Hoquiam had just 3 percent.
