Chapman looks to face Roth, Haffner to face Jensen

(Port Angeles) -- Clallam County District 2 Commissioner Mike Chapman, running as an independent candidate, will apparently face Republican Terry Roth of Port Angeles in the general election.
Chapman gathered 49-point-7 percent of the vote Tuesday, against 28 percent from Roth.
Democratic candidate David Fox of Port Angeles collected just 22 percent of the primary vote.
Incumbent Clallam PUD commissioner Hugh Haffner will battle Bob Jensen in the general election in November.
Haffner earned 51-point-6 percent of the primary vote, while Jensen tallied 33-point-5 percent Tuesday night.
Tom La Rosa of Port Angeles trailed a distant third with just
14-point-7 percent.
The Election night tally in Clallam County totalled
12-thousand-128 votes or 27-point-4 percent of the registered voters.
The next count of ballots will be Thursday.
The Auditor's Office received 34-hundred-70 ballots Tuesday.
The election results are final when the Canvassing Board certifies the results on September 3rd.
