Sequim power restored

(Sequim) -- Clallam PUD has completed repairs on a burned transmission jumper that caused about 15-thousand Sequim area customers to lose power Monday.

The power went out just before 5 yesterday afternoon when the problem occurred at the Evergreen Substation at 5th and Old Olympic Highway.

Traffic was snarled throughout Downtown Sequim during the peak of the afternoon commute after the power failed on the traffic lights.

Power was restored to a majority of the customers around 7 o'clock except for about one-thousand just north of town.

Electricity was back to all customers around 9 p.m.
