City approves Harborworks funding

(Port Angeles) -- The Port Angeles city council has agreed to loan the Harborworks Development Authority 150-thousand dollars.

OMC levy passing 53-47

(Port Angeles) -- Olympic Medical Center's effort to raise the local hospital district's tax levy is passing. Tuesday night's results show almost 53 percent of the ballots cast were yes votes, while the no votes numbered 47 percent.

Chapman looks to face Roth, Haffner to face Jensen

(Port Angeles) -- Clallam County District 2 Commissioner Mike Chapman, running as an independent candidate, will apparently face Republican Terry Roth of Port Angeles in the general election.

Incumbent Clallam PUD commissioner Hugh Haffner will battle Bob Jensen in the general election in November.

Kessler, Van De Wege, Dicks top primary races

(Port Angeles) -- House Majority Leader Lynn Kessler of Hoquiam will move onto the general election to face Republican Randy Dutton of Montesano.

Incumbent State Representative Kevin Van De Wege of Sequim, a Democrat, will run against Republican Thomas Thomas of Port Angeles in November.

Long time incumbent Sixth District Congressman Norm Dicks will face Republican Doug Cloud in the general election.

Rossi over Gregoire in Clallam

(Olympia) -- Democratic incumbent Governor Chris Gregoire and Republican Dino Rossi easily clinched spots for the November ballot Tuesday, clearing the first hurdle in their bitter rematch for the governor's mansion.
